Squeaking in before the deadline
I'm enjoying my time off from work. As for the pirate thingy, I went with something quick and sloppy. I'll do better on the next one.

Pirate Sketch *Updated*
I have been so bombarded with Christmas shopping, I nearly forgot about my own deadline on the "draw a pirate...IT'S ON...challenge." Feel free to post beyond any screwy deadlines I set (and then promptly forget.) Even though I did not leave myself time to do a proper sketch, I winged it with this awesome (I think) stylus drawing. This is a drawing of my all time favorite dumb pirate jokes...Here it is folks who have never heard this joke...it is time to marvel. "What are pirates two favorite letters..." R and I...Ha ha ha...I know, I warned you it was a dumb joke...
Later people,
Bob
*Updated* I did a flip on my picture and agreed it was a little extreme of a facial deformity. So here is a more Hollywood pretty pirate...Ha.
Something's fishy...
Here's my pirate entry! I made this completely in Photoshop, from sketch to colour. I first had some more pirates in the sketch, a fish and a lobster, but colouring this one took quite long and while working on it I realised it might become a bit too crowded if I added them as well.
It's the first time I've tried this "style". It looks a bit like something made in Illustrator, but I'm not very familiar with that programme. (learning to work with Illustrator is on my to do list though)
If you want to see pirates by me in another style, just hop on over to my webcomic, Willy and Evita. Somewhere last year I did a short story arc where they pretended to be pirates.

The "IT'S ON" Challenge...Draw a pirate!
This week Pirates of the Caribbean 3 came out. Even though it was not as good as the first I thought we could start our It's On challenge with the good ole' mainstay of comic, movies, and books. The Pirate challenge should land on Sept. 19 "talk like a pirate day." I'll try to remember that next year. So here it is...
It's On...Draw a pirate!
post it anytime in December!
Have a great weekend folks.

Dino Daze!
As a father of five and as a teacher of 600, it's often difficult to find time to draw. I'm an elementary art teacher so I took the time to create this poster illustration to advertise our big annual art show. If you want to see more of the art the kids did for this, take a look at our website.

Textures in drawings
I was talking to Tamara about textures, and how I don't use flat digitally populated textures. I wanted to show a hand drawn version of lots of textures and how many different ways you can color them in photoshop. This poster I did for Halloween is a great example.
New stuff tommorow...I hope...
Later,
Bob
